“You Are What You Eat” Should Sound An Alarm!

What you eat and how much a person eats is critical to your health now and in the future.  The fact is no more calories should pass your lips than the calories your body uses per day in order to maintain your current weight.  When you eat more calories than you use, the obvious result is weight gain.  That was my situation!

High glycemic foods like chips, cookies and ice cream over BEAUTY-NUTRITIONburden the pancreas.  Foods that stimulate inflammation such as saturated fats and fried or charcoal grilled foods create chaos throughout your body.  The chaos is in the form of free radicals that damage the DNA of cells.  This leads to accelerated aging and disease.

The alternative is to eat foods that are nutritious, that utilize fat storage, satisfy hunger, stabilize blood sugar, lower insulin and quells inflammatory fires.  Eating more than one serving of vegetables and fresh fruit each day can accomplish this.  Sugars should come primarily from natural fruits.  Consider unprocessed, natural grains, cereals, and rice for carbohydrates.  Utilize olive or canola oil.

“You are what you eat” demonstrated by overweight and obese people in the United States is at an alarming level of over 60 percent and is well documented.  Health issues that occur from being overweight are well documented as well.  You are what you eat when related to optimum health and longevity is a choice.  I choose this approach; how about you?
